BŌBIAM LAUNCHES UPTOWN RETAIL STORE AND ART STUDIO

SEVEN-YEAR-OLD ARTIST INSPIRES CREATIVITY TO SUPPORT YOUTH ART

Founded by a local Minnesota family in January 2011, Bōbiam Artistic Streetwear is a premium clothing and accessory brand for women, men and kids which features designs directly from the endless imaginations of youth artists – even those as young as 5. Today Bōbiam opened its first retail store on the corner of Hennepin Ave and Lagoon, kitty corner from the historic Uptown Theater. Bōbiam is a family business, leveraging their individual passions for a common purpose; to pay-it-forward. They have committed to donate a portion of their revenue from every sale to their charity partner, Free Arts Minnesota, as well as to the youth artists who’s designs are chosen for the store.

The name Bōbiam came from the founder’s son, Liam. His nickname is “Liam Bōbiam” or just “Bōbiam” for short. At age seven, Liam’s art was the inspiration for what is now Bōbiam. Here is a sample of his work along with his comments about the art:

Bōbiam’s Uptown location also features a modern Art Studio where local artists can purchase monthly studio memberships and be a part of the creative vibe. Discounted memberships are available for local Youth Artists and teachers. Artists of all talent levels are welcome. Art classes of all kinds will be available for members. Daily memberships are also available.

Bōbiam is in the process of applying for the necessary permits to add an Internet café element to the retail store. The entire space has a modern art gallery feel and the café element will allow customers and artists to take in the art in the casual and comfortable way the founders intended.

Bōbiam’s founders want to give Youth Artists the chance to reveal their art to the world. They aim to build Youth Artists’ confidence in their own abilities and build customer confidence in a brand that is dedicated and driven by all the right things for all the right reasons.
